Marketing is the science and art of exploring, creating, and delivering value to satisfy the needs of a target market at a profit. Marketing identifies unfulfilled needs and desires. It defines, measures, and quantifies the size of the identified market and the profit potential. It pinpoints which segments the company is capable of serving best and it designs and promotes the appropriate products and services.
little complicated right, lets's know it in easy language.
Marketing is a set of activities & processes of generating, conveying, delivering, and exchanging offerings that are valuable to customers.
Marketing is the process of increasing consumer awareness of and interest in a company's brand and products, frequently by emphasizing those products' benefits or appeal to consumers.
Marketing surrounds us whether or not we're aware of it. Everyday examples of marketing include billboards along a highway, TV commercials, magazine ads, brand posts on social media, and tailored website content.
with marketing, you can sell many products or many be any product or services. Many times marketing is a way to convey people to buy something which is actually not needed for them, Are you surprised ?? it's true. most of the things we buy we use we actually don't need in daily use. but it is just a side of the coin. the other side is where marketing help businesses reach their target customer. There are 3 basic parts of marketing Segmentation, targeting & positioning.
Segmentation: To segment, a market is to break it into identifiable, actionable, profitable, and segmented pieces that have room for expansion. In other words, due to constraints on time, money, and effort, a corporation would not be able to target the entire market.
Targeting: In marketing, targeting is segmenting your target market and creating marketing campaigns that will reach the groups that are most likely to respond to your efforts.
positioning: determines how your product (item or service) compares to competing goods and services, as well as where it stands in the consumer's opinion.
let's know the popular 4 ps of marketing: Product, Praise, Place & Promotion.
Product: product is a product that could be fruit, tv, table, car anything, Or maybe a service. The first step in developing a marketing strategy is to comprehend the product itself. And why is it required? What does it do that the products of its rivals cannot? Perhaps it's something completely new, and because of its alluring look or usefulness, they will be compelled to buy it right away. The marketer's responsibility is to describe the product and its benefits to the customer.
price: the price is how much you're paying for a product Price is the sum of money customers are willing to spend on a thing. Marketers must consider supply costs, seasonal discounts, rival prices, and retail markup in addition to connecting the price to the product's actual and perceived value.
Place: The concept of place involves deciding where the product should be sold—in physical stores and online—as well as how it will be displayed.
The choice is crucial: Luxury cosmetics manufacturers would prefer to have their products sold in Sephora and Neiman Marcus rather than Walmart or Family Dollar. Business executives always strive to put their goods in front of customers who are most Inclined to purchase them.
This entails placing a product only at selected retailers and ensuring that it is attractively displayed.
Promotion: Consumers are to be convinced that they require these goods and that their price is reasonable through promotion. Public relations, advertising, and the whole media plan used to launch a product are all included in the promotion.
To reach their target audiences, marketers frequently combine the aspects of placement and promotion. The "location" and "promotion" variables, for instance, are equally important in the digital age online and offline. Particularly, the locations of products on a business's website or on social media, as well as the specific search terms that will bring up targeted adverts for the product.
The goal of marketing is to inform and enthuse the public about a company's goods and services. The efforts of a marketing team in market research and consumer trends assist businesses in constantly satisfying customer wants by guiding the strategy behind other areas of the business.
